Kanpur: Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress president Rahul Gandhi on the issue of providing financial assistance of Rs 6,000 to small and marginal farmers.
Addressing a public gathering in Unnao on Saturday evening, Maurya, who came to campaign in support of the party candidate Sakshi Maharaj, said, “Rahul is criticising Modi government’s decision of providing financial help of Rs 6,000 per annum to small farmers, but the fact is that his (Rahul’s) ancestors had not provided financial help of even Rs 600 to farmers”.
Without naming Rahul, Maurya asked the people present in the gathering that what kind of PM they want? Do they want a PM who has a chest measuring 56 inches or a PM who winks in Parliament? The country needs a PM who knows how to react to bullets, he added. Maurya, while addressing another meeting at Shanti Mill ground in Bangarmau area of Unnao, urged the people not to fall in the trap of the opposition parties and requested them to strengthen PM Modi and the BJP.
Later, addressing mediapersons, Maurya while attacking the Congress Party said that its manifesto would lead the country towards destruction.
“After Modiji won 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the leaders, who had hatred for Hindus and temples, have now started visiting temples. They even took dip in Ganga during Kumbh, but we don’t have any objection to it”, he added.
