Chandrapur: BJP patriarch L K Advani has given enough fodder to the Congress, at least for a day. Congress president Rahul Gandhi lost no time in latching on to Advani’s blog and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of humiliating the veteran, adding that disrespecting one’s guru is not part of the Hindu ethos.
Rahul made the charge in the backdrop of the denial of election ticket to Advani, who had won the Gandhinagar seat six times since 1991. Rahul told the rally in Chandarpur, “BJP talks of Hinduism. In Hinduism, the guru is supreme. It talks of gurushishya tradition.
Who is Modi’s guru? Advani! Modi just kicked Advani out”. Rahul further said, “This is a fight of ideology: the Congress philosophy of brotherhood, love and harmony, as against one of hate, anger and divisiveness. Where ever he goes [Narendra Modi], he speaks ill of someone or the other.’’
