NEW DELHI: A Class VIII student of a government school in Rohini died in mysterious circumstances in the school on Friday.

The boy used to stay with his parents in Vijay Vihar. Prima facie, it appears a seizure is the reason behind the death, but the boy’s parents have registered a police complaint, alleging a foul play.

The incident took place at 8.30am when the boy had gone to the washroom. School officials said that the child started to shiver inside the washroom and fell down, losing consciousness as his head hit the floor. One of his classmates and two other students were also present in the washroom when the incident occurred. The children alerted the teachers and the child was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. The boy’s father said that he did not have any history of seizures.
