Seek cooperation of all for smooth conduct of polls

The Observers appointed by the Election Commission of India, Sahadeb Das and Sonal Chandra, reviewed the arrangements being made at the collectorate here for the smooth conduct of the polling process on Saturday.

Mr. Das said the election is a mega festival in India and every citizen should take part in it.

Addressing an official review meeting, the Election Observer (General) stressed the importance of everybody’s co-operation for the smooth conduct of the polling process.

The co-operation of all political parties, employees and the common people in the constituency was a must for the smooth conduct of the general elections, he said.

Ms Chandra called for strengthening the police patrolling in different parts the constituency.

Ms Chandra said more police force should be deployed in the district in connection with the polling process.

District Collector P.B.Noohu and Thiruvalla Sub Collector, Vinay Goel, briefed the arrangements being made in the district for the smooth conduct of the polls.

District Police Chief G. Jayadev said the police force was well prepared to ensure peaceful polls and the Police have already intensified night patrolling in different parts of the district.

The Election Observers, accompanied by the Collector, Sub-Collector and other officials, also inspected various facilities in place at the collectorate in connection with the general elections.
