Varanasi: Before going to his debut poll battle in 2019 general election, the BJP candidate from Azamgarh and Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua took blessings of Guru Sharnanand Maharaj, chief of Santmat Anuyayi Ashram, Gadwaghat math, in Varanasi on Saturday.
Nirahua has been pitched against SP president Akhilesh Yadav on Azamgarh seat, which is believed to be the stronghold of the SP. Presently Azamgarh is represented by SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, who defeated BJP’s Ramashankat Yadav in 2014 elections.
It is believed that Gadwaghat ashram has great influence on Yadav community. During 2017 assembly election Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also visited this ashram in March 2017.
After taking the blessings of his Guru, Nirahua also posted a photo on twitter account. Later, in a brief chat with reporters, he criticized Naseeruddin Shah for his appeal to not to vote for the BJP saying that people like him (Shah) are speaking Pakistani language. Such people should go to Pakistan, he said. “What do you (Shah) want from country, which has given you name and fame?” questioned Nihahua over Shah’s appeal.
When asked about his poll battle against Akhilesh, he said that the people of Azamgarh know it very well what Mulayam Singh Yadav did for them after winning the election. He (Mulayam) did not go to Azamgarh to take his victory certificate, he claimed.
Nirahua also targeted AICC president Rahul Gandhi for contesting election from two places saying that he (Rahul) could fight election from five places. “I will put a proposal of Yadav regiment in the army when I get opportunity to meet the Prime Minister,” he said.
