Priyanka Gandhi trolled for wrong greeting to Kashmiri Pandits

NEW DELHI: Congress general secretary and in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was on Saturday trolled on Twitter after she greeted the people of the Kashmir 'Nauroz Mubarak', instead of 'Navreh', which the Kashmiri Pandits celebrate as new year.
In a tweet, Priyanka wrote, "Nauroz Mubarak to all my Kashmiri sisters and brothers!! Despite my mother's 'don't forget to make the thali' messages, I had no time to make my thali (plate) yesterday but came home after (a) roadshow and found it placed on the dining table. How sweet are moms?"
However, the Congress leader got trolled as she mixed up 'Navreh' with 'Nauroz' which is the Parsi new year.
"Happy 'Navreh' to Kashmiri Pandits. Your message, your mom's thaali and your general knowledge, are as fake as you. Family problem, methinks," one user wrote.
Another user pointing to her mistake said: "It's #Navreh not #Nauroz. Navreh is festival of Pandits while Nauroz is a festival of Muslims. Nauroz was celebrated last month. Ma'am you seriously need to change the person who is operating your twitter handle."
"Nauroz is an Iranian new year madam. We Kashmiri Pandits celebrate it as Navreh..Nauroz kab ka chala bhi gaya," another Twitter user said.
However, there were some who "respected her feeling", saying although the spelling was wrong she referred to the correct custom.
