A local holiday has been declared for Tiruchi district on April 16 in view of Chithirai car festival of Samayapuram Sri Mariamman Temple.
All State government offices and educational institutions would remain closed on that day. However, examinations in schools and colleges would be held as per schedule and April 27 will be a working day in lieu of the local holiday, an official release said.
