Cong seeks EC permission for banned advertisement

Bhopal: The Pradesh Congress Committee has appealed to the Election Commission to permit some advertisement for the social media in the Lok Sabha elections. However, the Election Commission refused permission for four of these ads terming these objectionable.

A delegation of the state Congress today met Chief Election Officer Mr. Kantarao to appeal for permission once again. The Congress says that the refusal of permission to the two advertisements is baseless. The mentally challenged person shown in the advertisement, the doctor and the type of injection, its colour and the treatment used is not all objectionable. Congress has no intention of hurting anyone’s feelings.

The fact is that today the way in which the BJP government is releasing statements on social media like blind devotees, it indicates that not everyone is in the category of blind devotees of the Central government.

The person being shown as a mentally challenged person in the advertisement is a fictitious character and to turn any person to the right direction through fictitious advertisement in a satirical manner is wrong or unjustified.

No objectionable words have been used towards any particular person and it is a known fact that the advertisement issued by Congress is a process of busting things hence issuing NOC would be in the public interest.
