Poll flying squad seizes Rs 5.32cr
Dharmapuri: An election flying squad has seized Rs 5.32 crore cash, which was purportedly being taken to fill automated teller machines (ATMs) of Axis Bank by employees of a private firm, at Sesampatty area here on Friday evening.

Flying squad officials led by assistant engineer Mohana Priya seized the cash as the employees of the private firm failed to produce valid documents for the money they were carrying.

The money was taken to the district collectorate and later deposited in district treasury for further inquiry.

Mohana Priya said they have initiated inquiry with C Mathaiyan, who said the cash was being taken to fill Axis Bank ATMs. “We have asked him to bring valid papers for the entire money. We have also alerted income tax officials for further procedures.”
