THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: AICC president Rahul Gandhi owns assets worth Rs 14.85 crore. This is Rs 4.85 crore more than what he had declared during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. In 2014 he had declared assets worth Rs 10 crore.
In the affidavit filed before the Wayanad district collector on Thursday along with the nomination, Rahul Gandhi has declared that he has movable assets worth Rs 5,80,58,799 and immovable assets worth Rs 7,93,03,977. Income shown for the year 2017-18 is Rs 1,11,85,570.
He has taken a personal loan of Rs 5 lakh from his mother Sonia Gandhi and has a liability of Rs 72,01,904. He has self- acquired assets worth Rs 8,75,70,000. He has a deposit of Rs 17,93,693 in various banks.
In 2014 he had declared that he has movable assets worth Rs 8,07,58,265 and immovable assets worth Rs 1,32,48,284. Income shown for the financial year 2012-13 was Rs 92,46,973.
Rahul Gandhi has said in the affidavit that he has only Rs 40,000 as on March 31. He has inherited assets worth Rs 1,32,48,284. He has taken loans to the tune of Rs 72,01,904 from various banks.
He has investments of Rs 5,19,44,682 through various bonds and shares. He has PPF and postal savings of Rs 39,89,037. He has jewellery worth Rs 2,91,367 in possession which includes 333.300 grams of gold.
He owns an agriculture land of 2.34 acres jointly with his sister Priyanka Vadra in Mehrauli in New Delhi. This is an inherited property. He also owns a commercial building of 5838 sq feet Silokhera in Gurugram which is worth Rs 8,75,70,000.
In 2014 Rahul Gandhi had declared that he has Rs 35,000 cash in hand and had deposited Rs 9,50,575 in various banks. He had invested Rs 81,28,153 in mutual funds and Rs 20,70,146 in postal and national saving schemes.
