Driver Didn’t Go Down Quietly During 100 MPH Police Chase

A woman was arrested earlier this week in Cleveland, Ohio, after leading police on a high-speed chase on I-77, resulting in multiple damaged vehicles and lives being put at risk.

According to Cleveland19 News, the woman identified as Imani Edwards was driving north on I-77 when State Highway Patrol officers tried to pull her over for a traffic stop. When she decided to ignore them, authorities initiated pursuit and eventually cornered her and began approaching her vehicle on foot.

That’s when Edwards floored the throttle and crashed into several squad cars before breaking through and carrying on her way. Eventually, she turned off the highway and was pitted against a utility pole by the side of the road – this was after an officer had already rammed the back of her car, causing serious damage with the aid of another utility pole.

Can’t you see I’m late for work?

In a shocking turn of events, authorities said that the suspect claimed she was simply late for work, which is why she didn’t want to waste any time pulling over. Whether that really was her reasoning or not, she will now have to deal with felonious assault charges and failure to comply charges – on top of her tardiness.

Meanwhile, Newburgh Heights police chief John Majoy went on to praise the fact that the officers managed to secure the suspect without firing off a single round, while adding:

“Their lives were at stake, she almost ran them over, that’s a 2,000 pound weapon coming at you, they jumped out of the way just in the nick of time, to save their own lives.”

In the end, there weren’t any reported injuries to either police or any bystanders.
