Murder accused dies of seizures

A rag-picker who arrested by SR Nagar police in connection with the murder of a 50-year-old vagabond, allegedly died after he suffered seizures.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) A.R. Srinivas said that Sampath and another rag-picker Gunjolla Raju, 23, were arrested for killing the 50-year-old.

On Tuesday morning, a police constable on patrol duty, S. Praveen Kumar, got information about a man lying unconscious in the pool of blood near Sarathi Studio in Ameerpet. Immediately, he reached to the spot and found him dead, following which the body was sent to the morgue and a murder case was registered.

“During the course of the investigation, it was established that Raju and Sampath committed the crime, and they were arrested around 10 p.m. on Tuesday itself. They were kept in the police station for legal formalities,” he said.

Around 8.30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sampath developed convulsions and was immediately shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment, where he died while undergoing treatment.
