AIADMK man distributes fake currency notes, booked

Coimbatore: The rural police registered a case against an AIADMK functionary on Wednesday for distributing photocopies of currency notes to the public as tokens for attending deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam’s public meeting held near the government school compound on ABT Road in Pollachi.
Manibharathi, former municipal councillor and an AIADMK functionary from Pollachi, was booked under section 171 (b) read with 171 (E ) of the Indian Penal Code after senior statistical officer Dinesh lodged a complaint with the Pollachi east police.
The flying squad had seized the photocopies of currencies in the denomination of Rs 10 to Rs 2,000 from several people on April 2 around 5.45pm.
