The credit goes to the Congress President Mr.Rahul Gandhi to repose public faith and confidence in the election manifestos. Some back it were just a poll formality and nobody took it seriously.
In the last three Vidhan Sabha elections of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, Mr.Rahul Gandhi made specific time bound action on farmers loan waivers and won the all three Vidhan Sabha by ousting Bhartiya Janata Party from power.
While in the last 2014 Lok Sabha elections Mr.Modi made such a reckless senseless promises that after winning the power at the Centre it turned volte face on its poll promises just a sentence of no significance.
It was about Rs.15 lakh per person of the entire population from the recovery of black money. The another promises was about providing 20 lakhs of new jobs to youth of nation. Now the BJP is putting vague argument on this vital issue that in the last five years the employment must have gone upto that limits.
Now in this election the Modi Government projecting surgical struck and Air Force attack on Pakistan and All Out operation in the Kashmir as its achievement. Army activities must be kept away from poll politics. The Congress manifesto reposed by the party President Mr.Rahul Gandhi is quite down to earth document and very practical to implement if the party elected to power.
It requires just administrative action to fulfill the all the vacant posts in the Government services, to increase MANREGA work days from 100 to 150 days. There will be separate Budget for farmers. Sometime back there had been separate Railway Budget of India and the Modi Government merged it in the General Budget.
There are many tax evasion cases that are not criminal offence but civil offences incurring imposition of fines and recovery as land revenue. Now the Congress Manifesto too provided same relief to farmers who would default in repayment of loans. It would be made a civil offence.
In industry and trade many dishonest or defaulters either close down their business and run away. But a farmer as defaulter cannot runway with his land and would remain under the net of law.
It is a very big commitment that if elected the Congress Government would pass Women Reservation Bill that provides 33 per cent reservation for women in the Vidhan Sabhas and Lok Sabha. It is lingering on since 1996-97. The party also promised 33 per cent reservation to women in the Government services.
For three years in the beginning to start a business or industry the youths would not be required to seek and obtain any Government permission. It provides relief from red tapism of the Government process and procedures and payment of bribe to have it
As far as diluting the Armed Forces Special Powers Act is concerned it all depends as the ground realities of that time. Sometime back Army was withdrawn from Kashmir but after some time it had to be sent back there in deteriorating situation.
The Congress manifesto promises such things that are feasible and practical.
