Former courier firm staffer arrested with fake notes

Rajkot: A former employee of an angadiya (courier) firm was arrested from Krushnanagar of Morbi town late on Wednesday night for printing fake currency notes. The accused identified as Manish Patel (31) is native of Sokhada village in Vijapur taluka of Mehsana.
According police they have also seized 140 fake currency notes of Rs 2,000 and Rs 100 denomination from the accused.
Patel who had lost his job with an angadiya firm a few months ago had started printing fake notes using a high quality printer at his residence since past couple of months, said police inspector Salim Sathi of Morbi special operations group (SOG).
Patel was arrested from near St Mary school on Navlakhi Road on Wednesday evening.
After arrest, Patel claimed that it was for the first time he had tried to use the fake note he had printed in the market.
However, police suspect that Patel has already used number of fake notes in the market over past couple of months.
