“One of the sensors in the quad camera setup on the Motorola phone is a 48MP lens”
After the Huawei P30 Pro (first impressions) launch, it’s expected that there will be quite a few more quad-camera phones soon. However, Motorola was not one of the expected OEMs to follow up quickly in the footsteps of Huawei. But it seems that the Lenovo-owned company is currently working on a smartphone with a four-camera setup on the rear. An unnamed Motorola phone leaked last night, courtesy of Onleaks (in partnership with CashKaro) and the CAD render shows the interesting smartphone from all angles.
As usual, we get a 360-degree tour of the new Motorola device, which thankfully has a new design and could even be a premium handset, judging from its build. The camera module on the rear looks strange and juts out from the back panel, which I’m sure won’t be a welcome move. There’s Moto logo and seemingly no fingerprint reader on the back. There’s a USB Type-C port at the bottom and thankfully a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom. Flip it to the front and you can see the 6.2-inch display with a teardrop notch, which has also been adopted on the current G series of devices. There’s a Motorola branding at the front because a logo on the rear evidently isn’t enough.
As for the rear cameras, there isn’t much detail, except that you can see “48MP” printed on the rear of the chassis. We can also expect one of the sensors to be an ultra-wide lens, considering the ongoing trend. All else about the mystery device, including the processor, the battery, and pricing, still remains in the dark. Notably, this is the first time a quad-camera from Motorola has broken cover. Going by the history of the tipster, we do expect to see this device make an official appearance soon though.
