Gujarat: Two held with ganja worth Rs 1.02 lakh in Vatva

Two men were held on Wednesday afternoon by a team of Vatva GIDC police with 10 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.02 lakh. 

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Tahid Sipay, 21, a resident of Gomtipur and Samir Hussain, 18, a resident of Gomtipur. The duo was arrested from Vinjol village in Vatva. 

As per police, on Wednesday afternoon, cops were on routine patrol when vehicles were being checked. Ganja was recovered from a bag they were carrying.

The accused posed as college students and had hidden the ganja below books in their bag.

DR Gohil, Inspector of Vatva GIDC police station, said, "Primary investigation revealed that the accused brought the consignment from Surat and were supposed to sell it in Gomtipur area."

Further investigation revealed that the accused had reached Ahmedabad by bus and were going towards Vatva GIDC area in an auto-rickshaw when they were nabbed by the cops.

The duo has been remanded to police custody for three days. Additionally, cops are also trying to get details of the drug dealer in Surat through whom the two procured the drugs.
