Ghaziabad: A 20-year-old woman went missing on Monday after she left house around 10 am for her college. The woman’s father has, however, accused one Praveen of kidnapping her. A missing person’s report was filed in the matter on Tuesday.

Police said the woman is a resident of Pratap Vihar and is pursuing Bachelors of Arts from a private college of Ghaziabad. Her father told police that she usually returns home by 3-4 pm. “However on April 1, she did not return even by 5 pm. We then visited her college and talked to her friends, but no one knew about her whereabouts. Later, one of our acquaintance told us that he saw her in an auto-rickshaw with Praveen around 1 pm near Samrat Chowk in Vijay Nagar,” as the woman’s father stated in his complaint.

Police said Praveen (23) is a resident of Data Colony in Vijay Nagar. The SHO of Vijay Nagar police station Shyamvir Singh said on the basis of the complaint praveen has been booked under IPC Section 366 (Kidnapping). “We have launched a search operation and are trying to trace their mobile phone,” he said.
