Veteran researcher, long-time genealogist, expert on Old Dartmouth families, Little Compton lawyer and entertaining lecturer Richard W. Gifford will talk about the Gifford families of Old Dartmouth at the next Sunday afternoon lecture hosted by the Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society.

The lecture is set for Sunday, April 7, at 2:30 p.m will be presented at the Society Headquarters in the Russells Mills Schoolhouse at 1205 Russells Mills Road in the village.

A frequent speaker at the Dartmouth Historical & Arts Society and an expert on the Gifford families in Dartmouth since the earliest days, Richard Gifford will “share his deep knowledge and will educate and entertain us in the process,” a press release from the society states.

The Giffords were closely connected with many of the other older families of the area and Richard Gifford will augment existing knowledge along those lines.

Gifford is a member of the board of directors of the Dartmouth Historical & Arts Society and a frequent speaker in other local venues particularly, at the Westport Historical Society.

Light refreshments will be provided. A $5 donation is recommended.
