Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) leader T. Velmurugan alleged that the AIADMK-led alliance was levelling false charges against the Opposition and misusing its power to distribute cash in all 40 Parliamentary and 18 Assembly constituencies in the State.
He alleged that cash was being distributed with the support of police and election officials. The Election Commission was biased in its functioning in the State and it denied him and other leaders of his party permission to campaign, stating that they applied after the stipulated time.
Mr. Velmurugan also alleged that planned raids were being conducted in the residences and offices of the Opposition leaders.
On the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s election manifesto, Mr. Velmurugan said that many of his suggestions were included in the manifesto.
The TVK leader said he would campaign for the candidates of the Congress if that party’s leadership accepted his party’s demands.
Mr. Velmurugan also alleged that he was given wrong treatment by medical personnel when he fell ill during his imprisonment. He demanded that the Health Minister and the then health secretary should release a statement regarding his treatment within the next 24 hours.
