Candidates selected as Gurukul librarians have approached State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) urging it to “allow them to commit suicide” as appointment letters were not being issued despite their selection over six months ago.
The 247 candidates, who were selected as librarians in residential educational institutions, said that the Telangana State Public Service Commission has not given them appointment letters citing court cases, although the court had directed it to complete recruitment process within four weeks of the judgment.
Vijay Mulakalapalli, a selected candidate, said that the TSPSC appealed in the High Court against the judgment, thereby denying them the appointment.
He said some candidates who were not selected in the recruitment process approached the court earlier questioning the process itself.
However, the court had asked the TSPSC to complete the recruitment process in four weeks.
The notification for the posts had been released in April 2017 and the selection process continued till August 2018.
