A 40-year-old woman was allegedly attacked by her former husband over the non-payment of an EMI.
A complaint was lodged with Airport police station on Wednesday the woman, Poonam Sajani, a resident of Sardarnagar. According to the complaint, Sajani married the accused, identified as Babla Jaykishna Sindi, 20 years ago. The couple have two sons.
Around five years ago, the couple divorced and Sajani and her sons started living with her parents. On Tuesday night, at around 9:30 pm, when Sajani was sitting outside her house, Sindi came to the spot and started abusing her.
When Sajani told him to stop abusing her, Babla got angry, grabbed her and started punching her, which lead to her getting a bloody and broken nose. During the dispute, Sindi demanded to know why she had stopped paying the EMI of a loan taken for a two-wheeler and continued attacking her.
One of the couple's sons got between them and tried to sort out the issue. Sajani was rushed to a hospital and later a complaint was lodged against Babla with the Airport police station. Further investigation is on.
