YSR Congress Party candidate for the Vijayawada Lok Sabha (LS) constituency Potluri V. Prasad, popularly known as PVP, said on Wednesday he would service the people of the constituency 24X7 through the “askyourMP” app.

While his party is still dilly-dallying over releasing manifesto, Mr. Prasad has taken a bold step and come out with a manifesto for the city and a few of the Assembly segments.

Unveiling his vision here, Mr. PVP said the people could lodge complaints through a mobile application and a toll free number to a 24/7 Grievance Redressal Cell. He said he would address the grievances and coordinate with the appropriate authorities.

The vision with the campaign slogan “Let’s Make Vijayawada Great ASAP (As Soon As Possible) on the lines of US President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again: (MAGA) talks about developing academic, social, physical and agricultural infrastructure.

Mr. Prasad said he wanted to transform Vijayawada into a “fun city” by making it the event capital of India. He wanted to develop social infrastructure by establishing a world class convention centre which would become a destination for marquee events. A film museum which would preserve for posterity the rich history of Telugu cinema was also a passion of his.

Mr. Prasad said he wanted to establish the city as spiritual destination for people of all faiths. A spiritual village that would have “exact replicas” of temples that were destroyed in Vijayawada over the last five years would be developed.

He would also work to expedite development of physical infrastructure to improve transportation, drinking water, sanitation and health care facilities.

Mr. Prasad is keen on ensuring minimum support price (MSP) for subabul crop and enhancing the MSP for cotton and chilli crops.
