District Collector Kona Sasidhar has said that arrangements are being made for the postal ballot to be held on April 5.
Addressing a video conference at the Collector’s office, Mr. Sasidhar said that postal ballot facilitation centres would be set up at every Assembly constituency. Web casting of voting would be done and according to the Election Commission guidelines, no vehicle would be allowed within 100 metres of a polling station. In each polling station, 800 persons would be allowed to vote. The ballot boxes would be placed at the district treasury.
He directed the returning officers to set up distribution and reception counters and include details of student volunteers at polling booths. Vehicles would also be arranged sector wise to move the polling material.
Joint Collector Himanshu Shukla, Municipal Commissioner Shrikesh B Lathkar were present.
