Noted magician Varun, better known as Jadugar Anand Junior, performed blindfold bike ride here on Wednesday to spread the message of road safety.

He rode his motorcycle blindfolded for at least 7 km traversing the busy streets of the town in compliance with traffic rules. Khammam Traffic wing ACP Sada Niranjan flagged off the bike ride at Bhakta Ramadasu Kalakshetram.

Mr Varun zipped past the main thoroughfares with his face covered with a black cloth leaving curious onlookers spellbound.

Farooq, another magician, accompanied him on a separate bike.

Speaking to The Hindu, he said the ride was organised to drive home the message of road safety, which is of paramount importance to prevent accidents and save precious lives.

Road accidents are responsible for more deaths than those caused by wars across the world, he pointed out, saying motorists should adhere to traffic rules scrupulously.
