HYDERABAD: A week after actor Manchu Mohan Babu lodged a complaint claiming he received 30 threat calls, Banjara Hills police have decided to register a criminal case against unknown persons and take up investigation.
Banjara Hills inspector Kalinga Rao said on March 26 Mohan Babu lodged a complaint claiming that on March 22 he had received 30 telephone calls, where in the caller abused and threatened the actor of dire consequences. It is suspected that the calls originated from the US. The actor recently joined YSRC.
After receiving the complaint, the matter was referred to Jcourt since it was a non-cognizable offence. And, now with the court giving its consent, a case would be registered by Banjara Hills police under Section 506 (intimidation) of the IPC.
