Stage set for MercedesTrophy finale at Oxford Golf Resort

Pune: Forty-one winners from 11 cities including the Pune leg winners Indraneel Mujgule and Bhushan Musale will tee-off at the Orford Golf Resort on Friday for the MercedesTrophy finale to compete for the three coveted spots in the World Finals scheduled in Stuttgart in October.

The regional finals, which lasted over 27 days played across 11 cities dished out 41 winners and they will now play 18 holes modified Stableford competition against 3/4th handicap in three different handicap categories.

It is one of the largest of its kind participative golf tournament in India wherein over 2500 amateur golfers participated in the 19th edition of the MercedesTrophy, which also aims to raise funds for its global charity partner-Laureus Sport for Good Foundation--work in India. The funds raised will be equally matched by Mercedes-Benz.

Globally, the MercedesTrophy is played in 60 countries and is one of the world’s most prestigious amateur golf tournaments with a legacy of over 25 years.

MercedesTrophy every year as a tradition gives a wild card entry into the National Final to the winner of Best Maintained Car Grand Lucky Draw. This year Sandeep Moondra from Lucknow will play at the National Final as a part of the same, while Sachin Murteja will play as the Laureus winner of the season.
