CPI (M) State secretary P. Madhu asserted that Dalits have had a harrowing time in Andhra Pradesh under successive governments led by the Congress and the TDP, and they continue to be insulted and attacked. But, in Kerala, the ‘God’s own country’, they are being treated as human-beings by Pinarayi Vijayan, leader of the ruling Left Democratic Front. "Nowadays, Dalits are even landing on the Moon, but still face discrimination. Our Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan appointed them as priests in government-managed temples and other religious institutions. That is our commitment to ending the inequalities in society", observed Mr. Madhu at a press meet, mocking at the rhetoric of major parties in the Sunrise State.
