‘Cong., BJP do not know how to use country’s surplus water and power’

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao called upon the people to elect all the 16 candidates of the party in the Lok Sabha elections to change the direction and fate of the nation.

“You have seen the development that took place in the last five years after the formation of Telangana. We have been implementing so many welfare schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bheema and Kalyana Lakshmi. We are offering round-the-clock power to the farm sector. Why not these schemes be implemented across the nation? To make this possible, you have to elect all the 16 candidates of the party and send them to the Lok Sabha,” said Mr. Rao while addressing a public meeting at Alladurg in Zaheeerabad Lok Sabha constituency and Narsapur in Medak Lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday evening. He said the schemes being implemented by Telangana are being copied by other States and even the Centre.

“Farmers’ fate will change for the better with Kaleswaram. Their financial condition will improve and they will be flush with funds. The Congress and BJP rule did nothing for the nation. They do not know how to use the surplus water resources and power,” asserted Mr. Rao.

The party has managed to mobilise huge crowds for the meetings. At Alladurg it became a challenge for the police in controlling them.

“Think what we did in the last five years and make a decisive vote. It will change everything for us. We have already acquired about 3,000 acres for National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) at Zaheerabad which would offer two lakh jobs. We will develop Lendi and Koulasnala projects further. Kaleswaram water would be diverted to Singur project through Mallannasagar and irrigation would be provided to Narayanakhed and Zaheerabad by establishing two lifts in Singur,” he promised.

‘Modi a failure’

Hitting hard at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mr. Rao said he was an utter failure and all sections including Dalits, Christians, Muslims and farmers were most disappointed under his rule.

In a jarring note, some people at the meeting held placards demanding a separate Manjeera district by merging Narayanakhed and Jukkal.

At Narsapur, Mr. Rao said Telangana is the only State offering 24 hours free power to farmers. This is not being offered even in Gujarat, Mr. Modi’s native State.

TRS candidates B.B. Patil, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, along with Home Minister Mahmud Ali, Transport Minister V. Prashanth Reddy, MLAs T. Harish Rao, Ch. Kranthi Kiran, K. Manick Rao, M. Padma Devender Reddy and others participated in these meetings.
