Addict caught in possession of heroin 'tried to destroy the evidence by eating SEVEN BAGS of the drug'
- Tiffany Root, 29, of Ephrata was stopped by police on Monday evening
- Cops discovered she was in possession of drugs and took her into custody
- On her way to hospital she was said to have eaten seven other bags of heroin

Tiffany Root, 29, of Ephrata was pulled over by cops on Monday
A woman from Pennsylvania allegedly attempted to eat seven bags of heroin to hide them from the cops.
Tiffany Root, 29, of Ephrata is facing charges of seven counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance after an incident in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
According to police, Root's vehicle was pulled over at around 11.30pm for a routine stop.
Officers attending then took Root into custody after finding her to be in possession of controlled substances.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Thomas Seymour, of Lancaster, was also taken into custody on a bench warrant.
While in police custody officers reportedly found that Root had concealed even more illegal substances on her person.

After cops found she had concealed more bags of heroin on her person she was transferred to the Lancaster General Hospital (pictured)
She was then transferred to Lancaster General Hospital to have the items safely removed by medical staff.
Police say it was while she was en route to hospital that she allegedly retrieved seven baggies of heroin that had been taken from her and attempted to destroy the evidence by eating them.
Hospital staff acted quickly and managed to convince her to spit out the baggies.
She is now facing charges over the incident.
