The company will use the funds to expand operations in India and enhance its product offerings.
Online wedding platform WedMeGood raises $2.6M in Series A funding Online wedding platform WedMeGood has raised $2.6 million in Series A funding round from Orchid Asia. Founded in 2014, by husband and wife duo Anand Shahani and Mehak Shahani, the startup is present in cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai.

The company had earlier raised Rs 2.7 Cr from Indian Angel Network (IAN) in September 2015.

Anand Shahani, the co-founder, WedMeGood said, “We are looking at expanding our market further, so couples in every nook and corner can have their dream wedding in their budget - because that is the dream we started with when we first established the company. We’re also looking at investing further in the product, user acquisition and diversification of revenue streams.”

Mehak Shahani, Co-Founder, WedMeGood in a statement, said, “So far, we’ve painstakingly built a community of users who trust WMG to discover ideas, find vendors based ongenuine user reviews and detailed product portfolios. This has also contributed to the growth of thousands of wedding services brands. Orchid will help us scale the growth a lot faster, so we’re super excited to be working with them.”

The wedding industry is pegged at $40 billion but online segment of the same has a fairly smaller presence.
