Firm booked for not depositing GST

Vadodara: On charges of collecting tax amount and not depositing it with the government, officials of the goods and services tax (GST) department have booked Randhawa Constructions Company.
GST officials said that a partner in the company, Tarlochan Singh Randhwana collected taxes but didn’t deposit it with the government even three months after the payments were due.

GST officials said that Randhawa was arrested and later released on bail bond of Rs 20 lakh.

“Randhawa admitted to being an active partner and and depositing the collected GST amount to the government,” said an official release by the GST.


Five days ago, GST officials had booked a firm in the city, KSEG India International, for wrongfully availing input tax credit (ITC) of Rs 3.3 crore.


The company management showed fake invoices issued by various firms to them without any physical/actual movement of goods.


The proprietor of the firm was arrested and later released after he furnished a bail bond.
