Dance Kaleidoscope is a long-standing tradition at Bridgewater State University, delighting audiences for nearly 30 years, a press release from the school states. In it, BSU Dance showcases its motto, "Dance is for every body" featuring choreography from dance professionals, BSU faculty, and advanced students.
“Compelling solos, intricate small groups, and powerful ensembles will move across the stage in spectacular celebration of art and life,” the release states. “Dance Kaleidoscope covers a wide range of themes featuring finding inspiration and joy in the mundane, self-empowerment through positivity, bipolar disorder, political discord, and other pieces that are sure to leave an impact.”
Under the direction of professor Kristy Kuhn, the Dance Kaleidoscope team consists of several advanced student choreographers and features special guest artists: Marianne Harkless Diabate (Cambridge), Mckayla Willett (Carver), Marian Mott and Jordan Smith (East Bridgewater), Rebecca Santone (Methuen), Laura Sanchez (San Fernando, Spain), Eva Benson (Sharon), Jody Weber (Somerville), and Darah Nunes and Antoinette Brown (Taunton).
Local dancers taking part include Olivia Corey of Westport and Kailyn Cogan of Middleboro.
Performances of Dance Kaleidoscope 2019 will be held at 7:30 p.m. each night.
