Ludhiana: A day after former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA from Mansa Prem Mittal joined the Congress, another well known SAD face from Ludhiana, former councillor Sohan Singh Goga, too joined the Congress.

Goga, who last year had quit SAD after he was denied councillor ticket, was inducted into th Congress on Tuesday by Sunil Jakhar in Chandigarh. Apart from ,Jakhar Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu and in-charge of Atam Nagar constituency Kamaljit Singh Karwal too were present during Goga’s joining. According to sources in the party, Karwal played a pivotal part in Goga’s entry into the Congress.

Meanwhile, speaking to TOI about his joining, Goga said, “I feel happy to be part of the Congress, where hard working and honest workers are not ignored and unlike other parties there is no practice of pick and choose. I am thankful to all Congress leaders and high command, who have given me a chance to serve the people of Ludhiana by making me representative of their party. With my entry into the party I will ensure that the workers base of the Congress in all areas of Ludhiana increases and at the same time I will also go from door to door and expose the SAD and BJP coalition and urge them to make Congress victorious in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”

According to MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, “This is just a trailer for the opposition parties, especially SAD and BJP, of their dark days to come. More and more prominent leaders and workers are set to join the Congress in the coming days and it is a signal that our party is heading towards a one-sided win in the Lok Sabha elections and we will single handedly form the government at the Centre.
