Two arrested for running prostitution racket on dark web
TNN | Apr 4, 2019, 04:56 ISTMangaluru: City police have arrested two people in connection with running a prostitution racket that was functioning in the dark web.
The arrested are Ivan Cyril Pinto, 35, a resident of Modankapu in Bantwal and Sathish Acharya, 31, of Yeyyadi in Mangaluru. The police have seized mobile phones and Rs 23,500 from the accused.
Police said a raid was conducted on an apartment near Nanthoor in the city based on a tip-off received by the inspector of economic and narcotics crime police on Tuesday. The accused were running a prostitution network by uploading the pictures of girls from other states on a website in the dark web. Three girls were rescued by the team.
