Share market update: IT shares dip; Tech Mahindra down over 1%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading lower in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Tech Mahindra (down 1.31 per cent) , Infosys (down 1.23 per cent) and Wipro (down 0.82 per cent) were trading with losses.

Tata Consultancy Services (down 0.64 per cent) , Mindtree (down 0.41 per cent) and NIIT Technologies (down 0.08 per cent) too were trading lower.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.62 per cent down at 15,889.25 around 10:26 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 29.40 points at 11,742.60 while the BSE Sensex was up 167.20 points at 39,223.85.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of Tata Motors, SAIL, DLF, Bank of Baroda, YES Bank, SBI, BEL, Bharti Airtel and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
