A mother has written a heartbreaking letter urging Australians to take care when riding scooters in Bali as her son fights for his life after a horror crash.
Erran Braddick travelled from Queensland to Bali on Friday for a holiday with his girlfriend and had been there just one day when the accident happened.
The 32-year-old construction worker and his girlfriend had both hired scooters and were travelling around the tourist hotspot of Canggu.
However, as Mr Braddick rounded a bend he collided with an oncoming truck and suffered horrific life-threatening injuries.

The young father was rushed to BIMC Hospital in Kuta where he remains in a coma with a brain injury, extensive chest injuries, collapsed lungs and most of his ribs broken.
He suffered lacerations to his spleen and liver, along with bleeding on the brain where he has developed a blood clot.
Mr Braddick's sister Daniele said his girlfriend had not been on the bike, which had enabled her to keep a vigil by his side until his mother was able to fly in to Bali.
Footage taken shortly after shows Mr Braddick laying unconscious on the side of the road as witnesses, including his girlfriend, run to his aid.
Moments before the horrific crash, Mr Braddick and his girlfriend joked about the heat of the scooter's seat before agreeing to meet 300 metres up the road, Nine News reported.
The 32-year-old's mother, Rayleen Braddick, has since penned a heartbreaking letter from beside her son's hospital bed urging Australians to be cautious on Bali's roads.

'He now lies here in this most dreadful condition, quiet, just the constant sound of the ventilator and machines that will very slowly bring our boy back to us,' Mrs Braddick wrote.
'If I could say anything to reduce that number, it would be to our adventurous amazing talented and loved children: 1. When you are overseas, register with Smart Traveller, the embassy is amazing, they are your support team and a huge help for understanding the country you are in.'
Mrs Braddick pleads young people not to use illicit drugs or put themselves in unnecessary harm and asks them to recognise their limits and be aware of their surroundings.
'Most Importantly!!!! Get adequate travel insurance! You cannot imagine what a situation like this costs your family financially- it's beyond what I ever imagined! If not for the support of our family and friends, I honestly do not know what we would have done. Most families I know do NOT have those sort of funds ready and waiting! We certainly didn't, especially late on a Saturday night!'

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) told Daily Mail Australia that it is providing consular assistance 'in accordance with the Consular Services Charter, to an Australian man hospitalised in Bali and his family'.
'Owing to our privacy obligations we will not provide further comment,' the department responded via email.
While it is known that DFAT does not pay medical costs, the department would not say whether they would help with repatriation costs.
