Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, Rajya Sabha MP and National President of Congress Legal Department Vivek Tankha will contest the Lok Sabha elections from the state’s culture capital Jabalpur Lok Sabha seat.
Tankha has himself accepted this fact in Jabalpur today. He said that, “CM Kamal Nath along with all the party workers had told me to contest from Jabalpur, which I have accepted. The Congress party will soon officially confirm my candidature from Jabalpur.
Shri Tankha has been active in Jabalpur since last 2 days and is in constant tough with the Congress workers. BJP has released 3-time MP and state BJP president Rakesh Singh from the constituency.
In a formal interaction with media persons at the state Congress office Singh said that he defeated Vivek Tankha in the last election with 2.25 lakh votes. Whosover the Congress candidate, it is easy for BJP to win from the seat.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has indicated that the screening committee has decided on the claimants for the Lok Sabha election on all the remaining seats. The final decision will be taken during the meeting of the Central Election Committee on Tuesday, April 2.
CM Kamal Nath has said that it has not been decided as yet whether Priyanka Gandhi will campaign in Madhya Pradesh or not. Although Kamal Nath has said that we will definitely request Priyanka to campaign here. The decision on whether she will campaign in Madhya Pradesh or not ,will be taken by the party high command.
Refuting the statement of BJP president Amit Shah on Priyanka, he said that he should not worry about the Congress. What effect Priyanka has on the election, will be known on May 23. It is worth mentioning here that in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress candidates have already started demanding Priyanka Gandhi’s election rally in their respective areas as star campaigner.
