Chennai Super Kings suffered their first loss of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 as Mumbai Indians beat them by 37 runs at the Wankhede on Wednesday.
The result allowed Kings XI Punjab to climb to the top of the IPL 2019 points table on better net run rate. CSK now sit second with three wins out of four matches played so far. Mumbai Indians secured their second win of the season and rose to sixth in the table.
A total of eight teams are playing in IPL 2019: Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Yuzvendra Chahal is still leading the race for Purple Cap but Imran Tahir closed the gap to after he took one wicket during MI vs CSK match. David Warner retained the Orange Cap as the leading run scorer of IPL 2019.
