Allahabad: Attacking BJP over ‘unkept’ promises, AAP transgender candidate from Allahabad and ‘mahamandleswar’ of Kinnar Akhara, Bhawani Nath Valmiki, on Wednesday said the constituency has witnessed largescale migration of unemployed youths to big cities in the past five years despite tall claims of employment generation by the saffron party.
Valmiki was in the city to conduct a road show but was not given permission by the district returning officer due to incomplete formalities.

“The BJP had promised development and greater employment opportunities for the youths. The youngsters gave them a big mandate, but the party did not deliver on the promise and in the end of five years, youths are still jobless,” Valmiki told reporters.

She added, “The industries of the region have been declared sick and youngsters are forced to migrate to big cities as successive governments in past several decades have failed to address the issue,” she said. Commenting on her political debut, she said “people here have seen that political leaders do not deliver what they promise during polls as they have their own ambitions to fulfill”.

“I am a saint and have any family or aim so I will be working only for people,” she said and added that during Kumbh people showered affection on Kinnar Akhara and now it is her turn to return the love by working for the people. The Kinnar Akhara saint was slated to take out road show in various parts of the city but due to wrong mode of submission of application, she was not allowed.

AAP leader Sanjay Pandey said, “We were supposed to apply online but due to slow server we had applied offline and was not permitted to take out the procession by authorities.”
