Th Jeevan Bhima Nagar police have registered an FIR an against unknown person for killing a nine-year-old pet dog when it ventured out of its family’s house at Domlur last Friday. The dog, Bruno, belonged to interior decorators Rupa Bannerjee and her husband Pravin.
According to the police, Bruno would often go out on his own to relieve himself. However, on Friday, he did not return. When she realised that he had been away from the house for a long time, Rupa went in search of him, and found Bruno in a pool of blood. “His head had been smashed with a blunt object,” she told the police.
Later, the couple filed a complaint with the police who have taken up a case against unknown accused booking them under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Section 428 (mischief by killing or maiming an animal) of the Indian Penal Code.
