Election Commission has cautioned the candidates contesting for Lok Sabha polls to remain aware on rules related to expenses. Various teams including that of election commission will constantly keep vigil on all candidates. Knowing more about expenditure rules will help the candidates getting into trouble, advised the election commission. Briefing media election officer said that if a candidate is found travelling with the star campaigner then fifty percent expenses of the rally, show or event will be adjusted in the expenditure of the candidate.
All programmes of star campaigners will be watched very closely. If a candidate organises a rally or meeting with the star campaigner and publishes posters or photographs with the star campaigner then total expense of the meeting will be added to candidates expenditure.
Campaigning of all contestants will be closely observed and recorded by observers and other teams. Only personal staff members of star campaigners and medical and security team will get relaxation in travelling expenses. Travelling expenses will be added if someone from candidate’s team is present with the star campaigner.
