Tuned, 454HP Mercedes-AMG C43 Goes Like A Bat Out Of Hell

It has become sort of a trend to test the acceleration and top speed of various high-end cars. But what about lesser models? This video covers just that, the Mercedes-AMG C43, which is the brand’s answer to the Audi S4, and slots under the full-blown AMG C63.

You may have already noticed the Panamericana grille and other visual updates. Only this isn’t a stock AMG C43, as it has been tuned by Performmaster.

Besides the exterior mods, the car’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 now delivers 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW) and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft) of torque; quite an improvement from the stock model’s 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque available on tap.

The reviewer refers to the tuned premium compact sedan as the C43 S, but there’s no such thing in Mercedes-AMG’s line up . Instead, the ‘S’ suffix has been added by the aforementioned tuner and can be seen on the boot lid, in an attempt to bridge the gap between the regular C43 and the true blue-blooded C63. The range-topping model has 476 PS (469 hp / 350 kW) produced by its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in the normal version and 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) in the C63 S.

Now that we have covered the basics, let’s watch it being subjected to different acceleration tests in the following video and see how close it comes to the 4.0 seconds needed by the C63 S to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill.
