Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told a gathering in Bihar that he needs another term to fulfil his promises. “I don’t claim to have finished all the work. When they (Congress) could not do so in 70 years, how can I make the claim in just five years? A lot has to be done, I have the potential to do a lot, and for this, there is a need for constant effort. And for this, I also need your blessings,” PM Modi said.
He also alleged the Congress led opposition parties were supporting the ‘Tukde, Tukde’ gang and attempting to disintegrate the nation. Addressing election meetings in central Bihar, Modi regretted the Congress and its allies were talking the language of Pakistan.
He also questioned the statement of the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah, who had talked of restoration of offices of ‘Sadar-e Riyasat’ and ‘Wazir e Azam’ in J&K. How can there be two prime ministers in the country — one for India and another for J&K — he said in his hour-long speech. Since the two districts are Naxalite infested, the Prime Minister appealed to the Maoists to return to mainstream.
He charged that the ‘Tukde, Tukde’ gang was extending logistic and ideological support to the Maoists; the reference was to the Left parties which have fielded the former president of JNU Students Union Kanhaiya Kumar as CPI candidate from Begusarai.
