PM to address public meet at Merces on April 10

PANAJI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public meeting at Merces ground, on the outskirts of the city on April 10, as a part of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lok Sabha election campaign for Goa.

State BJP sources informed that the public meeting of Modi has been preponed by two days, due to some changes in his nationwide election campaigning schedule.

It was further informed that senior national leaders of the party namely Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and Smriti Irani are expected to address multiple public meetings at various places, in North and South Goa between April 11 and April 21.

Meanwhile, the state unit of the BJP has decided to include some inputs as were suggested by the departed leader of the party, Manohar Parrikar, in the manifestos of the North Goa and South Goa candidates of the party.

North Goa BJP candidate Shripad Naik informed this daily that Parrikar had a vision for Goa, and now it is the duty of the local party leaders to bring his vision into reality. “This very vision would be reflected in our manifestos,” he added.

The party sources informed that Parrikar had provided some valuable suggestions for restarting the mining industry in Goa as well as giving boost to local tourism through the assistance of Centre.

“We are trying to include them as well as many of his other ideas for the growth and development of Goa in the local Lok Sabha manifestos of BJP,” they informed.
