Rajan Anandan steps down as VP, Google South East Asia; To join Sequoia Capital as MD

Anandan was associated with Google for over 8 years and has been largely responsible for the aggressive growth of Google’s business in the country.

As  Rajan Anandan,VP for Google South East Asia and India, decides to move on from Google India, Vikas Agnihotri, who’s in charge of sales across India for Google, will take over in the interim.

According to reports, Anandan will join the leadership team at Sequoia Capital India as a Managing Director. Anandan will continue in his current role until the end of the month. Beaumont is expected to take up the position eventually; Vikas Agnihotri, who’s in charge of sales across India for Google, will take over in the interim.

Scott Beaumont, President, Google Asia Pacific said in a statement that “We are grateful to Rajan for his huge contribution to Google over the past eight years. His entrepreneurial zeal and leadership has helped grow the overall internet ecosystem in India and Southeast Asia, and we wish him all the best in his new adventures”.

Prior to joining Google he was the MD of Microsoft India till August 2010 and Country General Manager at Dell India.
