Man gets threat calls for supporting Modi, FIR lodged

Allahabad: A social worker and office-bearer of an organisation-‘Mission Modi again PM 2019’ has lodged an FIR at Naini police station against unidentified persons threatning him for supporting Modi.

The complainant, MA Khan lives at Naini. He along with his associate Patveender Singh had been active in various social activities of the area including Kumbh fair. For the past several months, he has been campaigning for the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


According to Khan, someone has been calling him on his mobile from past one week and abusing him. The caller said that since he is a Muslim, he should not campaign or speak in favour of Modi or face dire consequences.


“If I believe that my PM is the kind of leader that the nation needs and if I endorse the policies of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, it is my wish in the democratic country, why should someone threaten me and tell me not to do so since I am a Muslim, where does religion comes in this issue,” asks Khan. Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against unknown persons in Naini police station mentioning the mobile numbers being used to issue threat calls to Khan.


“Naini police have registered a case and launched a probe in the matter because it comes under the purview of violating the model code of conduct,” said SSP Allahabad Atul Sharma.
