The updated list of other devices assured to get monthly security update include the Galaxy S7 Active, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S8 Active, Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy A5 (2017), and Galaxy A8 (2018). The Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S8 Lite, Galaxy Note FE and other mid-range phones such as Galaxy A8+ (2018), Galaxy A9 (2018), Galaxy J2 (2018) will get quarterly updates. , A and M-series phones including the recently launched Galaxy A10, Galaxy A20, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A40, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A70, Galaxy M30, Galaxy M20, and Galaxy M10 are also planned for quarterly security updates.
Interestingly, the Galaxy A2 Core, which is rumoured to be Samsung’s upcoming Android Go phone is also present in the list, confirming its existence and imminent launch. Samsung tablets, such as the Galaxy Tab A (2017), Galaxy Tab A 10.5, Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019), Galaxy Tab A Plus 8 (2019), Galaxy Tab Active2, Galaxy Tab S4 10.5, Galaxy S5e 10.5, Galaxy Tab E 8 Refresh, Galaxy View 2 will also receive quarterly security updates.
Samsung notes that monthly security update models are subject to change as the regular support period expires. The updates will also vary depending on factors such as regions, models, and carriers.
