Flight fright as as both engines on a Jetstar plane from Cairns suddenly accelerate moments before touching down in Osaka
- Jetstar flight from Cairns to Osaka experienced engine troubles on approach
- Both engines recorded fluctuation sin speed as the plane was on approach
- Thankfully the pilots landed the aircraft without incident in Osaka
A Jetstar 787 Dreamliner is undergoing safety assessments after both if its engines suddenly accelerated while trying to land in Japan.
Flight JQ15 from Cairns to Osaka was preparing for descent when an alert indicated a surge in speed for both its engines while approaching to Kansai International Airport on Tuesday.
A Jetstar spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the aircraft did not have to undergo an emergency landing and passengers who were booked on the plane's return trip were moved to alternative flights.

'An engine fluctuation is when the engine speed varies temporarily, not necessarily causing the aircraft itself to increase speed,' the spokeswoman said.
'During this time both engines continued to operate and our pilots followed procedures, landing the flight normally.'
'Our engineers are assessing the aircraft in Japan, and we are working with the ATSB, CASA, GE and Boeing to investigate the cause of the fluctuations,' she said.
The Boeing 787-8 GE engine was first used in 2006 and is the fastest selling 'high-thrust jet engine' in the company's history.
