Cape Town - Free State Stars midfielder Sinethemba Jantjie on Monday became the latest in a worrying list of PSL players who in recent years have ended up as tragic car crash casualties.
Free State Stars confirmed in a statement that Jantjie, 30, was involved in a fatal crash in Bethlehem at 06:00 on Monday morning.
This continues a worrying trend in South Africa where a shockingly high number of footballers have either been injured or died in car accidents since 2015.
To the best of Sport24's knowledge, at least 16 players have been involved in accidents since April 2015.
